5 Regrets of the Dying

A month-old article posted on the Guardians caught my eye this morning. After reading of course my mind started to wander. Society definitely pushes us in directions we don't want to go sometimes, and it's quite terrifying and difficult to push back. But we can learn from our elders, while they explain their top 5 regrets as they remembered their lives:

1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

It's not a wish for a bigger house, more expensive car, larger closet, more money... it's quite the opposite. With that, I am vowing to start simplifying my life quite a bit! You can read the entire article here, and I urge you to also follow along on the writings and discoveries on Becoming Minimalist. Joshua Becker is inspiring and has the right idea!
